Workshop overview

A tunnel is a building that connects to other tunnels. Tunnels are team-based, opposite teams cannot use each other's tunnels (although in previous versions it was possible). Traveling between tunnels is determined by their location in relation to each other. It means you can travel through tunnels by going "left" or "right". More than two tunnels can be connected, in this case they act like waypoints of sorts.
Enemys can use your tunnels and vica verse. It is recommended that you protect your tunnels since enemys can come in trough it and get the flag.

How to build
Tunnel's can't be built by default, unless you are playing the "war" game-mode.

Update History
{{Build
|Version = 507
The map is a 2D surface where gameplay takes place.Maps can be .kag or .png currently.

.PNG files
Map files are PNG files and they are stored in the "Maps"-directory. Every pixel in a map file corresponds to a particular item or block and is drawn in a specific color. Because of this pixel based mapping system, users are able to create a variety of maps using paint applications on their computer.
While doing this it is advisable to use 24 bit depth PNG files, since especially different shades of green (Trees) will not be saved with the correct RGB values and thus not display correctly on the map.

There also is an ingame mapeditor which enables the user to create maps more easily. To gain access to the mapeditor you have to buy the "Premium edition" of KAG. You can save the maps in .PNG file by going Escape>Editor>Save Map.

Some blocktypes leave backgrounds while others won't, for example the dirt block leaves a dirt background after being destroyed, a teamdoor will leave "sky". Currently there is no way of changing this. Workshops can't be saved either for the time being (This also includes Workshops that have been placed on the map through the editor).
.KAG files
Kag maps also can be saved as .kag files. This is a special file made for King Arthurs Gold. With the in-game editor and commands via consol you can summon different objects and blobs. Opening the consol and saving the map via the command "/savemap name" saves the map in .kag format. Later on you can use the command /loadbitmap "name" to open the .kag file map. Stuff like zombies, lanterns and catapults will be saved unlike it would be for .png format (in which that stuff is deleted).

Recently a map tool has been developed by a player for more information please look at the link.
The Day/Night Cycle was implemented before the Zombies update in order to create a suitable time for the zombies to attack. The devs decided it would also be a great addition to the other gamemodes so players could pull off ambushes, sneak attacks, etc.

During the day visibility is at maximum. Players can see clearly. However as night approaches the darkness of your screen incrises and visibility reduces giving excitement to the game.

Night is perfect time for players to sneak attack enemy flags and its the time when zombies come out and start attacking player castles ([Zombie Portal]]s spawn zombies at day though). Length of day and night can be configured but generally day is longer due to fact that building takes more then fighting.
Lighting
The Day/Night Cycle comes hand-in-hand with the new lighting system, added in the same update (public build 319).
Block overview
The Workshop is a construction (requires Builder). After a complete Workshop has been built, it can to be upgraded into several different types of specialized workshops:
* Arrow Workshop: Allows players to purchase arrows with coins.
* Bomb Workshop: Allows players to purchase bombs with coins.
* Siege Workshop: Allows players to build catapults and outposts.
* Quarters: Heals players inside.
* Demolition Workshop : Upgrade from a bomb workshop. Allows players to produce kegs
* Mechanic Workshop: Allows players to build lanterns
* Masonry Workshop : Allows players to build boulders

Workshops and specialized workshops are usable by players of both teams.

Construction
The Workshop block has to be placed in a 3x3 shape. Successful construction is signified by a sound.
Note that damaging any of the individual blocks of any workshop will revert it to the "unfinished" status and thus render it not usable.

Only 1 block has to be on a platform, thus a 3x3 workshop may be constructed on top of a 1x1 on top of any block other then a ladder or castle back wall.

Since build 319 every workshop tile connects with each other placed next to it. As a result of this you can't make a workshop frame if your the frame you are building
is next to another unfinished workshop.
* Quarters: Heals players inside.

Block_overview
The Castle Wall is one of the main castle building blocks constructed by builders from stone. Aside from bedrock, it is the most durable block in the game and as such it provides excellent defense and stability.
Sometimes from a collapse a block can change position (fall down) or turn into a rubble.

Knights can not break castle walls, except with bombs which will break it in one hit if they explode within a one-block range. Archers have no way of destroying castle walls at all (exept kegs).
Block_overview

Lanterns are the only device in King Arthurs gold which produce light (except Quarters and bombs ). They are currently available only to full premium members.

When carried, they illuminate all blocks within the radius (default radius is 10 blocks). No block can stop the light from spreading so it goes underground and trough walls. Lanterns can be bought at a Mechanic Workshop for 5 coins and 5 wood in Zombie Fortress and premium servers. Certain servers will alter the cost, color and range of a lantern.

Carrying a lantern takes up the C slot (where hearts, catapults and outposts go), so it is only possible to hold one lantern at a time. While holding it, pressing C will throw the lantern.Zombies are lured by lanterns so they can be used as baits.

Lanterns can be destroyed with a knights jab, explosive, collapses and builders hit

Notes
*After a lantern is thrown, anybody from either team can pick it up or destroy it.

*Massing lanterns doesnt not make there radius bigger.

*Bombs can light up the area for few seconds when activated but dont have radius of a lantern.
The Mechanic Workshop is one of several types of workshops a builder can upgrade an empty workshop into. It can be used by all classes to construct lantern. The successful upgrade generates a sound cue and adds a set of tools to the workshop. The Mechanic Workshop in normal mode produces only 1 kind of lantern. Though on some servers there is a option to buy several colored lantern and a mega lantern. Mechanic Workshops are for premium users only.
Block overview

Kegs are the most powerful explosive devices in King Arthur's Gold, coming in the form of barrels of gunpowder. They are currently available only to full premium members.

When activated, they destroy all blocks within the explosive radius, including dirt, bedrock, and stone blocks. Kegs can be bought at a Demolition Workshop for 30 coins in Zombie Fortress. Certain servers will alter the cost and explosive power of a keg.

Carrying a keg takes up the C slot (where hearts, catapults and outposts go), so it is only possible to hold one keg at a time. While holding it, left click will light the fuse, and pressing C will throw the keg. It is recommended to throw it after lighting the fuse, to escape the explosion.

Knights can use their shields while holding kegs, but cannot attack because left click will activate the keg. Builders can attack with their hammers, but cannot build for the same reason, and archers cannot fire arrows, but can pick them up.

Notes
*After a keg is activated and thrown, anybody from either team can pick it up and throw it again. A keg can kill the one who threw it, but will not hurt his/her allies.

*Kegs can also explode when hit by a fully-charged arrow, shot from either team. Therefore, archers must be very cautious when an ally passes by holding a keg.

*Any nearby explosion will also trigger a keg, making chain reactions possible for compounded destruction. It also makes keg storage very dangerous.

*Kegs and bombs are the only ways to destroy bedrock, although the radius of a keg is far greater then that of a bomb.

*Knights can also use their shields to bomb jump when kegs explode.

*A keg can be loaded onto a catapult, but the timer will continue while it is loaded, so it may explode early.

Hey Illu, your code should work, sometimes things are weird, anyways I don't think it is really necessary to see what build the pages are in line with. If you have time to update to a certain build, why wouldn't you just update to the most recent? Often changes will break or modify functions that in the old builds were possible but in the new ones they are not, so if it comes to updating pages shouldn't you always orientate on the CURRENT build?
I am not sure what the info of the build it is in line with helps an editor ... except if its the current one.--Wyeth 07:32, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
*I was for example thinking of the following scenario: The next build (204) gets released. We update the current build number and try to update as many pages as possible but shortly after another build (205) gets released. And another (206). And another (207)...and so on.
Now we have some pages which are line with build 204, some which are in line with 205, etc. But we also might have a few pages which are still in line with the build 203 since we couldn't update the pages in time / the changes were to complex etc.
If we now know with which build a page is in line with we only need to check the changes between that build and the current one. With a message like "This page is/might not be up-to-date." we have to read all of it extensively and check if everything fits to the current build.
You get me now?--Illu 16:39, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

*I do get what you mean, but optimal we shouldn't fall behind like that (and update the pages slowly over time asap). I just don't think its necessary, I see where you are comming from and its not like it hurts anyone, but I wouldn't bother with it... feel free to do as you please though, also get on IRC when you got time :D --Wyeth 17:09, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
Wood is one of the items of the game. It is gathered from trees. Wood is used to build rooms that can be upgraded into one of many different types of specialized workshops. Wood can be drooped in form of a item or drooped in death. Since wood can regenerate it is suggested not to completely cut down trees around your base so you have resources when the round is near end. Wood can be received from trees, buildings or during the warmup time. There is also a mod on some servers enabling you to buy wood for gold coins from a "Shop" kind of workshop.
Block overview
The Arrow Workshop is one of the several types of workshops a builder can upgrade an empty workshop into. It can be used by any class to purchase arrows, which can be used by archers. The successful upgrade generates a sound cue and adds an arrow to the workshop.

Standing in front of the workshop is required to use it.
A single arrow costs one coin. One keystroke will buy a stack of 10 arrows if the player has 10 coins or more.

How-to-build
First build a Workshop, then upgrade it to an arrow workshop.
Typically built next to a bomb workshop or near an archer setup. They are essential on maps with little to no trees.

Also they are often built on sky bridges that construction has been halted on as a way to get more arrows without having to travel a long distance back down to the trees or at base level.
Block_overview
The Catapult is a portable siege weapon constructed in the Siege Workshop.

To pick up and move the catapult, press [C] while in front of it. While carrying a catapult, you can't jump as high as before and you become much slower. To throw the catapult, press [C] while carrying it. Enemy catapults can be picked up and stolen.
A catapult can be destroyed not only by melee weapons, bombs and catapult projectiles, but also arrows.

Usage
Holding [E] in front of the catapult will bring up its menu, which contains four options: 'Fire mode' on the top, 'Load Stones' to the right, 'Load Object' below, and 'Mount Yourself' to the left.

To load up a catapult with stones, bring up the menu and select 'load stones' to the right. To shoot use the menu to change into fire mode, face the direction you want to fire, then hold down the left mouse button. The longer you hold the further you will shoot.
Each catapult shot uses up 10 .

To load a catapult with a bomb, light the bomb with [F] and put it on the catapult by pressing [E]. The catapult should not be currently firing for this to work. The bomb will explode only after it has been fired, so there is no danger of it exploding while mounted.

Tips
* The catapult fires three small rocks at a time and can be very deadly. A well placed, fortified catapult can keep the enemies at bay even when outnumbered.
* Fired rocks will destroy ladders instantly, making catapults an effective counter against poorly built sky bridges.
* Hold [E] in front of a catapult to bring up its menu, then select 'Mount Yourself' on the left to get on the catapult and have another team member launch you. For maximum distance, hold your shield up to parachute.
* You can load a Bomb, Boulder, Lantern or Heart into a catapult for alternative applications.
*You can load the Keg in a catapult but its timer doesnt stop so there is a chance that the keg explodes while loaded in a catapult.

Boulders are small round rocks that are dispersed in collections whenever bedrock is destroyed. They are also fired from catapults. Each shot launches three boulders at once.

Boulders will damage and possibly kill any players they touch. A knight will get stunned and receive damage from a boulder even if shielded. However, the damage may be reduced by shielding, and it will stop the boulder(s), protecting nearby team mates. Typically, after a boulder is launched, it will bounce several times off of the ground or built structures before rolling to a stop. The boulder will do damage to all blocks except bedrock, and will instantly destroy ladders. A boulder shot from a catapult will not hurt the allies of the one who shot it, passing through them instead.
Raron//wiki.kag2d.com/wiki/WorkshopWorkshop2012-03-31T15:28:15Z
Raron: Meh im kinda late with some stuff....Updated what needed a update

Block overview
The Workshop is a construction (requires Builder). After a complete Workshop has been built, it can to be upgraded into several different types of specialized workshops:
* Arrow Workshop: Allows players to purchase arrows with coins.
* Bomb Workshop: Allows players to purchase bombs with coins.
* Siege Workshop: Allows players to build catapults and outposts.
* Quarters: Heals players inside.

The Quarters are a construction that a builder can upgrade an empty workshop into. The Quarters heal any player standing inside of it. The only other object ingame that has this same effect is the heart. Before the quarters were introduced changing classes at the tent or the outpost would heal you fully, leading to a lot of abuse.

Construction
The Quarters will heal any player standing in front of it. This will cost 2 coins for every half heart and happens slowly over time.

Placement of quarters should be considered with great care, as it can be damaged quite easily and even worse, exploited by the enemy team. Thoughtlessly placed quarters can give the enemy team a big advantage.
