Wood is one of the main resources in the game. It can be gathered from trees by builders, as well as the tent during the build phase of certain gamemodes. Wood is used to build certain blocks, including the trap bridge, ladder and team door blocks. Wood can also be used to create workshops - 3x3 structures which can be upgraded to have specific functions. In Premium gamemodes, wood can also be used to build wooden wall and wooden back wall, weaker versions of the castle walls. Some players have devised traps involving wooden structures, as they are much easier to break.

Wood can be dropped as an item, and will automatically drop onto the floor if a builder mining a tree cannot carry any more. Any class can pick up the dropped wood in their item slot, but only the builder can store and use it as a resource. When a player does, all the wood they were carrying is dropped as an item. When gathering wood from a tree, the tree will slowly shrink in size until it becomes a stump. Building on the stump will destroy it, preventing the tree from growing back and providing more wood. It is not advised to do this, as it will reduce your team's wood supply in the long run, especially on maps with little trees.

Modded servers can have custom workshop and block building costs. Some modded servers also have custom workshops which allows players to buy wood with gold or coins.
