Single Player
King Arthur's Gold includes single player options. They are useful to practice your skills, as there is no tutorial in the game. Currently, Single Player offers one mode:
Challenge
In Challenge mode the player is dropped in a world tasked with saving Princess Shannon from the evil Necromancer, Sedgewick.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer is the main component of King Arthur's Gold. It supports over 32 players in a variety of game modes.
Take the Halls
Take the Halls is a game mode where two teams fight over control of Halls scattered throughout the map. The goal and win condition of this mode is to capture every hall on the map
Team Deathmatch
In this mode two teams fight until one of them meets the required number of kills (which is visible in the upper left hand corner and is dependent on the number of players in each team). This mode also features coins, which you earn by killing enemies and lose a few of them when you die. Coins are used to buy various items from the trader.
Capture the Flag
Capture the Flag mode pits two teams against each other as they have to retrieve the other team's three flags. The mode includes a simplified shop system and coins, similar to KAG Classic.
Challenges
The "Challenges" game mode is based on it's Single-Player counterpart, where you can play cooperatively with other players to complete an objective, and there is only one objective per map. Each challenge has a maximum time limit of one minute and in some maps the class you spawn as is selected randomly, allowing for fast-paced gameplay.
Whether you win or lose, high scores for most individual/team kills and fastest times are stored and shown at the end of the round. As of right now, there are three Challenge types on various maps, but more will be added through updates.
Griefing
Griefing is a term used by many players to describe the act of hampering your own team. Whether its destroying your team's structures, obstructing paths intended for your team, or killing them by any way--any intentional act that gives disadvantage to your own team is considered griefing. This also includes team swapping to harm the opposite team.
If you see any griefing, please visit the IRC and ask for help. Generally a guard will be on and come assist you.
