The Archer is a skilled warrior in ranged combat, using a bow to rain death from afar. The Archer does not start with any arrows by default, but has the ability to make them from trees or to buy them from an arrow workshop.
- [Left click] - Aim, click and hold, release to shoot
- [Right click] - Make arrows from trees, collect fired arrows (even from dead/living bodies), destroy dirt and rubble blocks. If your bow is drawn you can right click to cancel your shot.
- [S] - The Archer drops to the ground making him harder to target for enemy Archers; this is also a method to play dead, as enemy players can walk right past him if not paying attention.
- [W] (on a tree) - The Archer can climb trees to get a better view of the battlefield, hide himself among the foliage, and snipe enemies from a different vantage point.
Bow
The bow is the Archer's weapon of choice. It requires arrows as ammunition.
Aim with cursor by pressing left mouse. As the mouse button is held, different-colored dots will begin to appear in a circle formation around the cursor. These indicate the strength of the fired shot when the mouse button is released. Shots fired with gray dots are very weak, but these can be fired in relatively quick succession. A shot charged with red dots will go further and possibly do more damage. When the circle is completely lit, the dots turn yellow, indicating a full charge. A fully charged arrow will usually stun enemies, even shielded knights, and do the most damage. It will travel across a huge length of the battlefield before hitting the ground. If the mouse button is held too long, the charge will start decreasing again. It is usually faster to cancel the charge with a right click than to wait for the bow to charge up again.
Arrows
Arrows are one of the items of the game. They are used as ammunition by the Archer, who can make them by chopping a tree (by right-clicking it). This yields one arrow for every hit, each tree segment holding a potential three arrows. Otherwise they can be obtained by buying them at an arrow workshop. It costs 1 coin per arrow, and each use spends ten coins at a time. Arrows stuck in terrain, buildings, or players can be taken by right-clicking. When an Archer is killed, he will drop half the number of arrows in his inventory, and will respawn with the default number of arrows for an Archer (depending on server variables).
An arrow stuck in a wall at a roughly horizontal position can be used as a temporary ladder for Archers to jump on, which allows them to climb over high structures. Archer can carry maximum 250 arrows at once.

Gameplay Tips
- Archers can only destroy dirt blocks, making them ill suited for leading raids.
- On most servers, archers cannot damage themselves or teammates with arrows. They can, however, damage catapults or outposts used by either team.
- Archers are slower and don't jump as high when charging a shot.
- The faster an arrow flies the more damage it inflicts, to a maximum of 1.5 hearts.
- Despite the red charge area being fairly big there are no variations in arrow speed between the beginning of the red charge and the end of the red charge. There are only 3 different levels of base speed.
- A fully drawn arrow (yellow circle around the cursor) breaks a knight's shield block for a moment, stunning him and allowing allies to attack.
- Fire arrows at a wall while jumping against it to quickly scale it.
- Laying prone with [S] allows the archer to hide in bushes for an ambush, feign death, or avoid being targeted. Enemies do not collide with the Archer when lying down.
- Climb trees to get a safe spot when defending your castle.
- Because the Archer is able to collect fired arrows by right clicking, it is also possible to 'catch' arrows mid flight, but is very difficult to achieve due to latency and arrow speed.
- When making arrows from trees, every right-click makes one arrow. Builders only get wood from chopping the last hit on a tree block. So try to help your builders out by chopping the bottom three blocks of a tree twice each.
- Unlike the soldier, and even the builder, archers cannot damage enemies by falling on them.
Update History
- Archer can pick up rubble rocks as arrows again
- Fixed archer can pick up rubble rocks as arrows
- Arrows are even faster now.
- Arrows are now stopped by bridges (if more then 1 at full charge)
- Full zoom is taken out.
- Arrows don't stick to shields
- Arrows stick to bodies
- Arrows now go through bridges
- Archer doesn't draw arrow if no arrows
- Wood, stone, gold is automatically picked up only by builder; arrows by Archer; bombs by knight
- Only 50% of arrows drop drom dead Archer
- Bomb can destroy dropped arrows
- Archers can climb trees
- Archer has 3 firing options (indicated by cursor color): slow, normal and charged
- Arrows are generally faster but have a lot more drag
- Arrows damage is based on velocity (dragged/out of screen arrows are weaker)
- Archer can cancel shot with [right mouse] click
- Fixed arrows losing effectiveness when lobbying them
- Archer stomp doesn't do damage
- Archer charge cursor appears only after arrow is drawn
- Fixed killed Archer arrow not firing
- Moved arrow origin 2 pixel higher
- Fixed 3 heart Archer
- Slow arrows give half damage
- Improved arrow collisions (from circle to line)
- Fixed arrow map collisions
- Added fast arrow springy sound hit
- Added picking up old arrows
