Trees are one of the natural blocks of the game. Over time, new pieces of wood grow and leaves will grow on the top branch and below, even if the tree has been completely chopped down. If a block is placed over a tree, it will stop growing, but if a block is placed on the tree's root, it will disappear and never grow back. Occasionally on a server, trees may appear to never cut down - this is due to a desynchronisation error between the client and the server, as the server thinks it has already cut down.
An archer can right-click any part of a tree to gather arrows. Archers can also climb trees, using [W] and [D] to climb up and down, much like ladders. However, if any part of the tree becomes damaged or broken, any archers climbing the tree will fall down, and automatically fire their arrow.
A builder can right-click any part of a tree to gather wood. Builders can chop trees much faster than archers.
A knight can left-click any part of a tree to break it, but no resources are given for doing so. This can be used to knock enemy archers out of trees, however.
Tips
- An archer can conceal them in the leafy top of a tree when nobody's looking. The archer becomes almost completely covered by the tree, allowing him to be unnoticed by enemies.
- Dealing with an invisible archer? Find the direction their arrows are coming from, the use the mouse to scan the treetops. If your mouse hovers over them and you're within short range, their name will appear over their head.
- Don't be so quick to cover up trees with blocks. Making trees scarce (or removing them completely) could spell doom for your team.
- Occasionally, leaves will form close to the base of the tree. This can conceal grounded units like knights or builders.
Update History
- On gold servers, builders get wood from every hit on the trunk, not just the hit that destroys it.
- Archers no longer fall fully from the tree when it's being hit by a builder/archer/knight.
- fixed trees heal when reaching the bottom of the trunk
- Trees can now be damaged by bombs
- ladder/tree climbing animation uses walk animation
- trees don’t appear on mountains
- trees regrow faster
- trees drop faster
- fixed door issue being placed on tree stump
- trees are higher (more wood)
- trees don’t grow now in holes
- trees don’t grow on tent
- trees regrow faster
