Catapults are the "non plus ultra" in terms of crashing castles and bodies. They are entirely built up of wood and need rock items to be used. A catapult fires three small rocks at a time and is very deadly.
To build this construction place the pieces in a 4 x 3 (horizontal x vertical) square. The catapult will get the turned the right way when built. To pick up and move the catapult, press [C] while in front of it. While carrying a catapult, you can't jump as high as before and you become much slower. To throw the catapult, press [C] while carrying it, but be warned! If you throw it near a ledge, it could drop off and become your enemy's weapon.
A catapult can be destroyed not only by melee weapons but also with arrows and catapult projectiles.
Holding [E] in front of the catapult will bring up its pie menu, which contains four options: 'Fire' on the top, 'Load Stones' to the right, 'Load Object' below, and 'Mount Yourself' to the left.
To load up a catapult with stones, bring up the pie menu and select 'load stones' to the right. To shoot use the pie menu to change into the fire mode, face the direction you want to fire, then hold down the left mouse button - the longer you hold the further you shoot. Release to shoot.
To load a catapult with a bomb, light the bomb with [F] and put it on the catapult using 'load object'.
Tips
- The catapult fires three small rocks at a time and can be very deadly. A well placed, fortified catapult can keep the enemies at bay even when outnumbered.
- Fired rocks will destroy ladders instantly, making catapults an effective counter against sky bridges.
- Hold [E] in front of a catapult to bring up its pie menu, then select 'Mount Yourself' on the left to get on the catapult and have another team member launch you. For maximum distance, do not perform any actions after launch.
Update History
- catapult fire progress is always displayed when in fire mode
- fixed catapult not changing team on fire
- catapult fires more sideways
- catapult uses 5 stone per shot
- catapult loads much longer
- catapult against catapult is more powerful
- catapults don't regenerate
- catapult rocks have more gravity
- destroyed catapult drops half loaded stone the more vertical the catapult rocks the less damage they do
- mount bomb on catapult (light bomb with [F] and then put on catapult with menu [E])
- added man catapult launching
- fixed catapult/tent resource icon red
- fixed catapult rocks making sounds on die
- fixed infinite rock catapult exploit
- catapult can change rotate according to thrower
- fixed catapult facing wrong direction for red team
- added catapult
