Lanterns are one of the few items in King Arthur's Gold that produce light (along with Quarters and bombs ). They are currently available only to full premium members.
When carried, they illuminate all blocks within the radius (default radius is 10 blocks). The light permeates through all blocks, so the light reaches underground and through walls. Lanterns can be bought at a Mechanic Workshop for 5 coins and 5 wood in Zombie Fortress and premium servers. Certain servers can modify the cost, color and range of a lantern.
Carrying a lantern takes up the C slot (where hearts, catapults and outposts go), so it is only possible to hold one lantern at a time. While holding it, pressing C will throw the lantern. Zombies are lured to any light source, so lanterns can be used as bait. The lantern will be destroyed if a zombie attacks it.
Lanterns can be destroyed by a knight, a builder, or any explosion or collapses.
Notes
- After a lantern is thrown, anybody from either team can pick it up, and enemies can destroy it.
- Massing lanterns does not make the light radius larger.
- Bombs can light up the area for few seconds when activated but have a lower radius than a lantern.
- Quarters have a light radius of a lantern but are not mobile.
- A lantern can be loaded onto a catapult.
- Some servers offer lanterns of different color and radius.
